We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a major data centre construction project based in Portugal.
This is a site-based role suited to a supervisor with strong mechanical services experience who is comfortable leading site teams, managing subcontractors and maintaining high standards of safety, quality and programme delivery on complex, fast-paced projects. You will play a key role in overseeing mechanical installation works, coordinating with other disciplines and ensuring all systems are installed safely, efficiently and in line with approved drawings and specifications. Mechanical Supervisor Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Mechanical Supervisor or similar site leadership role
Strong background in mechanical building services including pipework, plant rooms and HVAC systems
Experience working on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or large commercial projects
Proven ability to manage subcontractors and direct labour on site
Strong understanding of quality assurance, inspections and snag management
Solid knowledge of health & safety practices and safe systems of work
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and schedules
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-discipline construction environment
As a Mechanical Supervisor:
Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all mechanical works on site
Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and ensure daily compliance with site safety standards
Carry out regular inspections, audits and walkdowns, closing out actions promptly
Manage QA inspections of mechanical installations to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
Snag, inspect and sign off completed mechanical works and QA documentation
Coordinate mechanical activities with other trades to prevent clashes and delays
Prepare short-term lookahead programmes and manage labour resources accordingly
Monitor subcontractor performance and address issues proactively
Track site progress and prepare clear weekly progress updates
Identify and report variations, delays or risks to the project team
Ensure materials and plant meet project specifications and are stored correctly on site
Verify that all subcontractor equipment, lifting gear and access equipment are certified and compliant
The Package:
Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €65,000 plus package.
