Job Description
The position involves leading the English department, overseeing curriculum development and implementation, and ensuring seamless progression across year groups.
Responsibilities include planning and delivering English Language and Literature within the IGCSE and IB Diploma frameworks, developing strategies to support EAL learners, and collaborating with colleagues to align practices and improve student outcomes.
Additionally, the role entails managing and supporting the professional development of the English teaching team, fostering a collaborative and aspirational department culture.
* Plan and deliver English Language and Literature curricula within the IGCSE and IB Diploma frameworks.
* Ensure seamless curriculum progression and high-quality teaching across year groups.
* Develop and oversee tailored strategies to support EAL learners within the International Section.
* Collaborate with colleagues across sections to align practices and improve student outcomes.
* Manage and support the professional development of the English teaching team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Expertise in English Language and Literature, experience teaching IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme, proven leadership experience in an academic setting, passion for promoting high standards, inspiring a love of learning, and strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills are essential.
