We are looking for an Accountant - Contabilista Certificado for Portugal, based in Barcelona.
The job holder is a member of the European Financial Accounting team at the Air Products Shared Service Center in Cornellà (Barcelona, Spain) and will be responsible for all key compliance deadlines of the Air Products legal entities in Portugal.
As an Accountant - Contabilista for Portugal, you will:
1. Prepare timely and accurate data on Portuguese GAAP for external reporting to Tax Authorities, Auditors, and the Statistical Office. Additionally, support monthly reporting for US GAAP according to the Company’s Month-end Closing schedule.
2. Prepare local GAAP Statutory Accounts for Air Products legal entities, including working papers and schedules for the statutory year-end audit, aiming for a clean audit opinion.
3. Perform balance sheet reconciliations (Consolidação de Balancetes) monthly/quarterly, ensuring all reconciliations are completed and properly filed, collaborating with other functional areas as needed.
4. Set priorities and work plans within the framework of the Finance accounting group and corporate deadlines under the supervision of the Team leader.
You Will Have:
1. Certified Portuguese accountant: Contabilista Certificado with registration in the "Ordem dos Contabilistas”, working as Técnico Oficial de Contas (TOC).
2. 3-5 years of experience in preparing Portuguese GAAP financial statements and annual accounts in accordance with IFRS.
3. Basic knowledge of Portuguese Corporate Tax Returns and local taxes (Legislação Fiscal Portuguesa).
4. Effective communication skills in a large, multi-disciplinary environment.
5. Fluency in English and Portuguese; knowledge of Spanish is advantageous.
Nice to Have:
1. Knowledge and experience with US GAAP, especially in Spain.
2. Experience with SAP is considered an advantage.
