Senior Java DeveloperLisbon Area, Portugal | Hybrid Model (3 days on-site per week)Full-timeAbout the ProjectThis position is offered within a financial services environment aligned with Corporate & Investment Banking, supporting back-office systems related to Collateral and Cash Management.The project operates in a complex and regulated financial context, relying on robust and scalable technology solutions to ensure operational efficiency, risk control, and regulatory compliance.The RoleThe Senior Java Developer will join a technical team responsible for the development, maintenance, and evolution of critical back-office applications.While the role is connected to systems built on the Calypso platform, prior Calypso experience is considered a plus, not a requirement.The position involves close collaboration with functional and business teams and offers exposure to complex financial systems in an international environment.Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications supporting back-office processes - Contribute to solutions related to collateral and cash management - Collaborate with business analysts and cross-functional teams to gather and implement technical requirements - Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues to ensure system stability and performance - Participate in code reviews and promote best practices in software development and testing - Support system integrations within a broader financial technology ecosystem - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across development processesRequired Skills & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field - 6–9 years of experience as a Java Developer in complex or enterprise environments - Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot - Solid understanding of software development principles and methodologies - Experience working in financial services or regulated environments is highly valued - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a teamNice to Have- Experience with Calypso or similar financial platforms - Knowledge of investment banking back-office operations, particularly collateral and cash - Exposure to financial markets systems and large-scale architecturesWhat's On Offer- Hybrid working model: 3 days per week on-site, 2 days remote - Technically challenging projects within financial markets technology - A collaborative and international work environment - Long-term professional growth opportunities - A culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement
