This organisation is building a next-generation data platform powering live feeds, high-frequency data pipelines and centralised solutions used globally by industry-leading clients.As part of their continued growth, they are now looking to hire an experienced Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join their core engineering team and work closely with senior leadership on the development of their event-driven data infrastructure.The Role:You will play a key part in building and optimising backend systems that support high-volume, real-time data delivery.
This includes working across their current stack — PostgreSQL, FastAPI and Redis — as well as supporting their transition towards a distributed, streaming-focused architecture leveraging Kafka-compatible queuing and ClickHouse for analytics.Requirements:• 3–5 years' commercial experience in backend development (Python preferred)• Strong experience with FastAPI or similar modern frameworks• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and Redis in production environments• Exposure to real-time or event-driven systems (WebSockets, streaming, queues etc.)• Experience building and consuming REST APIs• Familiarity with Docker and containerised deployments• Hands-on experience with monitoring, observability and performance tooling• Comfortable collaborating closely with senior engineers and product teamsNice to Have:• Experience with Kafka-style systems (e.g. Redpanda)• Knowledge of ClickHouse or high-performance analytical databases• Familiarity with distributed systems or large-scale data pipelines• Interest in sports data or high-frequency feedsIf you would like to be considered for this position, please apply directly to this advert or send your CV to ******.
