We are looking for a Software Developer to join our international team in Albergaria-a-Velha and play a key role in evolving our shop-floor systems, data flows, and production efficiency.

The Role
As a Software Developer, you will support the full software development lifecycle within a manufacturing environment, ensuring enterprise systems are seamlessly connected to shop-floor operations.
You'll work closely with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and IT teams to design, develop, and optimise MES solutions that improve data accuracy, system reliability, and operational performance.
You will join a small, international team across Portugal and Mexico, working in a collaborative environment with strong coaching from experienced colleagues. The role also provides exposure to Hydra X, S4 HANA, AI-driven solutions, and modern integration frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Analysis
Partner with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and IT teams to understand business needs
Translate requirements into functional designs and technical specifications
Design & Development
Design, develop, configure, and test MES applications and interfaces
Implement new functionality and customise solutions for plant requirements
Integration
Ensure real-time integration between MES and enterprise systems (SAP, E-Plant)
Develop and maintain interfaces, middleware, and communication protocols
Testing & Validation
Create and execute test plans and validation protocols
Ensure solutions meet quality, compliance, and business standards
Support & Optimisation
Provide advanced technical support and incident resolution
Perform root-cause analysis and implement improvements
Maintain technical documentation and SOPs
What You Bring
Education & Experience
Degree in Systems Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or similar
2–3 years' experience in MES, manufacturing IT, or software development
Technical Skills
Strong full-stack development experience
Hands-on experience with:
C#
SQL Server
Microsoft .NET Framework
Microsoft technologies
MES platforms and ERP–MES integrations (SAP preferred)
Industrial communication standards (OPC UA, REST APIs, MQTT)
Ability to troubleshoot across application, interface, and infrastructure layers
Understanding of IT architecture and system lifecycle management
