.HyLab is a collaborative research center located in Sines (Portugal), which targets the gap between the academic and industrial ecosystems in the implementation of green hydrogen to boost the energy transition and to tackle its challenges, along the entire hydrogen value chain.
HyLab's final goal is to create a worldwide reference Research, Development and Innovation (R&D+I) cluster with a strategic agenda focused on strengthening hydrogen competitiveness and creation of new products and services.
Moreover, HyLab will foster innovation, addressing the relevant supply chain components to enable a hydrogen-driven economy and to promote skilled and value-added job creation.
HyLab involves valuable national and international R&D institutes, academia, industry companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), start-ups, and hydrogen-related technology manufacturing industries.
The position: HyLab is looking for an Economic and Financial Analyst to develop decision criteria based on the assessment of the competitiveness of the Green H2 market in Portugal and in Europe.
The Economic-Financial Analyst will report to the Lead Research on Sustainable Hydrogen Economy and will have the mission to assess the competitiveness of the supplied H2 for the short, medium and long-term for several scenarios to be co-developed with stakeholders.
You will be challenged with: Analysis of future levelized cost scenarios of competing energy vectors (electricity, natural gas, diesel, etc.) and of generated Green H2 for Portugal and within Europe via literature review of scientific and energy markets information, techno-economic modelling, and expert elicitation with key players; Assessing Green H2 value chain competitiveness comparing alternatives and considering the effect of policy measures (i.E., carbon prices); Carry out investment profitability studies regarding all aspects of fiscal incentives, inflation, evaluation of levelized costs, financial risk analysis, and analysis of reliable criteria for decision making; Identificationof robust business cases (economic conditions, pricing, flexibility and security of supply, required investment, risks, etc
