Our client, a globally recognised interior design practice known for delivering luxury hospitality environments, is seeking an accomplished Senior Interior Designer to join its Porto studio. This role is suited to an experienced senior professional with strong technical capability, proven project leadership, and deep exposure to large-scale hotel projects.
The Senior Interior Designer will work closely with the Design Lead, contributing across all phases of the design lifecycle. While the design lead is front-end focused, this role centres on advancing concepts into fully resolved schematic, technical, and construction stages, managing drawing packages, coordinating with consultants, and overseeing on-site delivery across multiple concurrent projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage multiple hospitality projects at varying phases of development, ensuring design integrity, technical accuracy, and project momentum.
* Translate early concept and mood imagery into well-developed schematic designs, including 3D refinement and materiality resolution.
* Produce, run, and oversee complete drawing packages; manage coordination with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and specialist partners.
* Act as a primary client-facing representative, providing clear communication, structured updates, and confident design and technical guidance.
* Drive on-site coordination in collaboration with project managers, consultants, and contractors to uphold design vision through execution.
* Ensure alignment between concept, schematic, and technical stages, maintaining quality, consistency, and feasibility across deliverables.
* Travel as required for client meetings, site reviews, and design workshops.
Key Experience
* Minimum of several years operating
at senior level
within top-tier studios, with demonstrable experience on large-scale hotel and hospitality projects.
* Strong technical background with deep understanding of construction detailing, specification, and delivery processes.
* Proven capability in taking schematic design into technical development and construction phases.
* Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously within a global, multidisciplinary design environment.
* Confident communicator able to represent the design team in client, consultant, and contractor interfaces.
* High proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; strong SketchUp capability preferred.
* Ability to work across Mac or PC environments; all presentations are produced in Apple Keynote.
* Working knowledge of BIM workflows (Revit) is highly advantageous, particularly for managing BIM-driven project components.
* Strong organisational, coordination, and leadership skills, with a meticulous approach to documentation and technical resolution.
Additional requirements
* Ability and willingness to travel internationally.
* Experience in global studio environments, hospitality typologies, and complex multi-stakeholder coordination is strongly preferred.
Salary - up to 45,000 euros pa.
