Job Description:
HyLab aims to create a global R&D+I cluster focused on hydrogen competitiveness and innovation. The project involves collaboration between academia, industry, SMEs, start-ups, and technology manufacturers, addressing the entire hydrogen value chain to promote a hydrogen-driven economy and skilled job creation.
We are seeking a Financial Techno-Economic Analyst to develop industrial processes and infrastructure related to green hydrogen. The analyst will report to the Lead Researcher and will analyze selected segments of the Portuguese Green Hydrogen infrastructure throughout its lifecycle, including production, transport, storage, and end-use scenarios.
The role includes technical analysis, process simulation, CAPEX/OPEX assessment, profitability, and cost-benefit analysis under various scenarios. Responsibilities include:
1. Participating in R&D projects on hydrogen technologies to gather data for techno-economic analysis.
2. Building a cost database for green hydrogen infrastructure over its lifecycle.
3. Collaborating on life cycle assessments and developing technical models (using Aspen Plus/Aspen Energy).
4. Conducting economic evaluations (NPV, ROI, payback period, etc.) under different scenarios.
5. Performing cost-benefit analyses with tools like MATLAB/Econometrics.
6. Preparing reports and scientific proposals, and contributing to dissemination activities such as writing articles and conference presentations.
Qualifications:
* PhD or Master’s in chemical or mechanical engineering or related fields.
* Experience in designing industrial or infrastructural projects and techno-economic analysis.
* Knowledge of Aspen Plus, Aspen Energy Analyzer, and process modeling.
* Optional: MATLAB/Econometrics skills.
* English proficiency at C1 level.
