ABOUT THE ROLE
The Product Business Analyst is a key strategic role and will be responsible for bridging the gap between strategy/product vision and execution. The role acts as the glue that binds various aspects of BCA’s strategy, product design, technology, and solutions ecosystem. The Product Business Analyst will collaborate with the wider IT department and other areas of BCA to support the delivery of market leading digital products and services.
The Product Business Analyst is matrix managed and will be involved at the earliest stages of the product development cycle across a range of products. They will work with Product Owners deep-diving on problems and providing options on ways to progress the product evolution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Development and Delivery
* Works with Product Director and Head of Product to provide Strategic and Technical Product direction for all BCA products
* Educates business leaders and the wider business on how our products can be utilised to expand and leverage the multi-service automotive value chain
* Drive the best customer experience and journey through our digital platforms, to ensure a seamless and frictionless experience
* Drive Product Excellence: Champion building the right solutions with quality, ensuring products meet both user and business needs through effective analysis and collaboration.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across the business to identify integration points, manage dependencies, and drive efficiencies.
* Backlog & Requirements Management: Support product teams by defining, prioritizing, and refining requirements, writing user stories, and maintaining a clear and actionable product backlog.
* Strategic Insight & Planning: Contribute to innovation and strategic initiatives by analyzing requirements, evaluating business cases, and informing senior management on product viability and priorities.
* Process Expertise & Continuous Improvement: Act as a subject matter expert on BCA systems, support Kanban practices, quarterly planning, and root cause analysis to enhance product delivery.
Leadership and Communication
* Operating within a matrix managed structure and a wide range of stakeholders, the role requires a high degree of influencing capability
* Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and professionally. With the confidence to challenge, convince and manage multiple stakeholders within technology and business functions across a range of seniorities, experience and knowledge both within and external to BCA.
REQUIREMENTS
* Experienced Agile Product Professional: Proven track record of delivering end-to-end products within Agile teams, with strong facilitation skills for mapping workshops and stakeholder engagement.
* Strategic Thinker with a Hands-On Approach: Combines commercial acumen, service design expertise, and a deep understanding of digital and offline touchpoints to drive impactful product outcomes.
* Collaborative and Influential Leader: Skilled at aligning cross-functional teams, bridging gaps, and leading through transformational change with strong relationship-building and communication skills.
* Adaptable and Resilient Problem Solver: Thrives in ambiguity, tackles complexity with a tenacious mindset, and proactively identifies solutions without needing direct instruction.
* Balanced Skill Set: Brings together technical understanding, soft skills, and a detail-oriented mindset—comfortable operating at both strategic and executional levels with high personal ownership and integrity.
EXPERIENCE
* Significant relevant experience within a product led environment
* Educated to degree-level, or similar work experience
* Excellent cultural awareness and emotional intelligence, backed by demonstrable experience working closely with diverse cultures
* Experience working directly with commercial and operations owners
* Deep understanding of software development processes and cycles
* Knowledge and experience of Agile product development frameworks
* Extensive experience working directly with customer and external stakeholders
* Ability to perform under pressure and in highly complex environments
* Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the automotive sector is desirable
* Experience working in Service Design or as a Service Designer is desirable
