Reporting to the Global Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the GMs of Portugal & Spain, the Iberia Head of IT is responsible for delivering fully digitised Portuguese and Spanish entities, providing exceptional customer experience (CX), advanced data analytics, and optimised business operations for diagnostics, thereby accelerating Unilabs' position in both countries.
Our goal for Iberia is 100% digital integration with customers, a fully digitised patient journey, and driving business performance through advanced analytics while delivering digital solutions to enhance operational excellence across the business.
The individual will bring technology excellence, leadership, an entrepreneurial and strategic mindset, and significant digitisation experience to the organisation.
Their key focus is to ensure the business derives value from technology by delivering:

As a key member of the Portugal and Spain CLT (Country Leadership Teams) and UNILABS IT Leadership Team, the role will ensure that technology supports the significant business challenges and changes faced by UNILABS in the coming years.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Technology Leadership
The Head of IT implements and adapts the global technology vision and strategy for Iberia, aligning it with business goals. They collaborate with other CLT members to ensure technology initiatives drive growth, efficiency, and innovation.
Digital Transformation
Deliver digital initiatives to enhance patient care, diagnostic accuracy, and operational efficiency within Iberia, utilizing global solutions where appropriate. Explore emerging technologies (such as AI, telemedicine, and IoT) to improve diagnostics and patient outcomes.
Data Security and Privacy
Ensure compliance with global security standards to protect patient data and adhere to regulations (e.g., HIPAA). Foster a culture of data privacy awareness and compliance.
Operational Management
Ensure day-to-day IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity, meet Iberia expectations and global standards. Manage IT budgets (CapEx, OpEx), vendor relationships, and service level agreements. Execute projects within Iberia in collaboration with global functions.
Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with other C-suite executives to align IT with business objectives and communicate strategies and progress across the organization. Adhere to global architecture and security standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Deliver technology solutions that enable seamless service to customers, suppliers, and colleagues, focusing on quality customer experience and operational excellence.
* Drive quality and efficiency in technology solutions, ensuring compliance with architecture and security standards.
* Oversee continual improvement and updating of all platforms, reducing technical debt and risk.
* Manage relationships with key vendor partners to enable executional excellence.
* Implement Iberia-specific initiatives on time, within budget, and to quality standards, engaging all stakeholders.
* Translate global strategic initiatives into operational deliverables for Iberia.
* Work with the Group CISO to ensure system security.
* Provide optimized IT operations for Iberia, aligning with global ITOM models.
REQUIREMENTS
* Proven experience as Head of IT or senior IT manager.
* Strong understanding of medical diagnostics, healthcare regulations, and industry trends.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience working within a global matrix organization.
* Commercially savvy, with experience managing relationships with technology vendors and SIs.
* Ability to influence senior executives and break down organizational silos.
* Focus on business value and results.
