What You'll Be Doing: As part of a collaborative and high-performing IT team, you will play a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of enterprise database environments. Your responsibilities will include: Installing, configuring, and patching SQL Server instances (single-instance and High Availability environments using Availability Groups), ensuring compliance with defined versions and patch levels. Monitoring QA and Production environments and continuously improving monitoring and observability capabilities. Maintaining secure environments by enforcing the principle of least privilege and best security practices. Ensuring optimal performance through regular index and statistics maintenance. Troubleshooting performance issues in close collaboration with development teams, applying appropriate configurations and indexing strategies. Supporting multiple environments (DEV, QA, and Production) across different domains. Managing and prioritizing requests using Azure DevOps, with full traceability through source control. Supporting development teams by creating and reviewing T-SQL scripts required for operational procedures. Participating in deployment activities for each sprint, ensuring database stability, safety, and performance throughout the release process.What We're Looking For — Technical Skills: Proven experience managing SQL Server 2019+ in multi-instance and high availability environments. Strong expertise in installation, configuration, patching, backups and restores, snapshots, rollbacks, and recovery strategies. Solid database security expertise and a proactive mindset toward data protection and risk mitigation. Advanced SQL Server performance tuning skills, including index optimization (rowstore, columnstore, full-text, in-memory) and in-depth understanding of statistics. Experience with partitioning is a strong plus. Strong observability skills, including hands-on experience with SQL Server DMVs and performance diagnostics. Excellent T-SQL skills with SQL Server 2019+. Experience with PaaS solutions is highly valued. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices is a plus. Experience with PostgreSQL and Power BI is advantageous but not mandatory. Public Cloud experience, with a solid understanding of compute, storage, networking, and identity concepts, is a differentiator. Minimum of 5 years' experience in an enterprise environment or 7 years in any industry sector. At least a secondary school qualification (A-Levels or equivalent).
