About This Role
We are seeking an experienced Marine Engineer to join our team in Region 2. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing matters related to marine and cargo operations, providing technical support, and collaborating with various departments.
Main Responsibilities
1. Marine Support
o The Marine Engineer will review marine-related Management of Change processes, ensure marine manuals are up-to-date, and provide expertise on marine systems issues.
o They will participate in incident investigations, support emergencies in the Monaco Emergency Control Center, and maintain stability software for units in operation.
o The role also involves reviewing applicability to Region units of internal SBM alerts and collaborating with budget preparations.
o Visits to shore bases or offshore sites may be required.
2. Support to Future Operations
o The Marine Engineer will support the Operability and Operations Readiness Department by participating in HAZID, HAZOP, and pre-sailaway audits.
o They will review operations manuals, provide marine operational experience to other SBM departments, and support the Marine Safety Working Group.
3. ABS/FLAG Support
o The Marine Engineer will assist in maintaining high-level contact with ABS and BMA, ensuring effective day-to-day management and coordination.
o They will liaise with Classification Society Head Office on behalf of local Operations Management, review incoming rules and regulations, and keep abreast of industry developments.
Requirements
* A Marine Engineering degree or equivalent qualification and experience.
* Minimum 10 years' experience in offshore operations/FPSO experience and/or sailing vessels.
* Adequate knowledge of steam plants and associated components, as well as stability software.
* Process safety management knowledge, incident investigation skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively with team members of all disciplines and English language proficiency.
