Senior Manager, Design Director - Evergreen ( Global Brand Marketing )

We are seeking someone with the drive and agility to push beyond the expected, who is passionate about the outdoors and determined to create boundary-breaking experiences and lead a new era of design thinking. The Design Director - Evergreen, is a hands-on and multi-disciplined creative, your portfolio showcases deep experience and ability to effortlessly move across creative disciplines; conceptual thinking, art and design direction and digital first thinking are your core competencies alongside an ability to lead and inspire your team.

What you will do:

As the Design Director - Evergreen, Global Brand Creative, your primary responsibility will be to lead and define creative across our core product categories. You are a conceptual and design first thinker who merges creativity and sport culture to create best in class immersive storytelling, engagement, and experiences. Your role will be crucial in evolving and implementing our visual design language, ensuring excellence, scalability, consistency across the global marketplace. Inclusive of 365 and seasonal business priorities, brand/product campaigns, and overall global brand experience. This position reports directly to the Creative Director of Global Brand Creative.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more:

· Drive the development of global brand guidelines, campaigns and year-round creative needs for our core product categories. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate marketing objectives into clear category positioning that resonate with our global audience.

· Conceptualize and develop visual concepts: Drive and deliver compelling concepts, visual strategies, and design guidelines that push the brand voice further while celebrating the brand's innovation, rich heritage, and authentic connection with the world of exploration.

· Establish and maintain an ongoing creative partnership with Global Brand Marketing and channel partners to maximize the long-term potential of seasonal content and ensure a consistent voice and tone across product categories.

· Be a true product and apparel expert, crafting holistic, product-driven narratives that showcase our Franchise and ‘ICON’ innovations and related product offerings. Obsessing photo art direction and style, overseeing PDP and Evergreen product marketing.

· Drive content creation and planning with a digital-first mindset, ensuring that creative output is optimized for different digital advertising platforms, including e-commerce, paid media, social media, and more.

· Serve as the main point of contact for agency partners —briefing, reviewing, and guiding creative outputs to align with brand standards.

· Lead a team & provide direction: Bring guidance and mentorship to the relevant teams (internal/external), fostering a collaborative and inspiring work environment while pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation.

· Manage external vendors: Collaborate with external vendors, agencies, and freelancers to ensure the successful execution of projects, while maintaining strong working relationships.

· Stay updated on industry trends: Keep abreast of the latest design and art trends, technologies, and best practices, and leverage them to enhance the brand's creative output globally.

· Develop and inspire your direct reports, focusing on their career development and increasing their ability to have a greater impact and influence within the TNF community.

· Inspire and motivate Brand Creative to produce work that solidifies The North Face's position as leaders in the outdoor space.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 10+ years of experience with 3+ years of management background and professional achievements .

The foundational skills you will need in this position are:

· Proven experience (Minimum 3 year’s experience) in a creative leadership role within an agency or global brand marketing environment, preferably with sports and/or outdoor industry connection.

· Strong understanding of global marketing trends, consumer insights, and best practices in brand creative strategy and execution.

· Extensive experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and regional brand partners to align on creative strategies, content development, and campaign direction.

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex information and influence diverse stakeholders across regions and channels.

· Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative and innovative environment.

· Proven track record in driving digital-first strategies and optimizing creative for various digital advertising platforms.

· Strong background in visual design, brand systems, and UI/UX for web and digital products

· Ability to inspire and motivate a creative team, providing timely feedback, nurturing talent, and fostering career development opportunities.

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

· Knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in brand marketing and storytelling.

· In-depth knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.

· High Proficiency in industry-standard design software, such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant tools inclusive of AI tools.

· A passion for the outdoor industry, with an understanding of the target audience and their mindset is a plus.

Location requirement: While this position can be remote, the ideal candidate will be able to travel to/ reside within Denver .

Hiring Range:

$122,688.00 USD - $153,360.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, orcommissionpotential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
