About the Role We are seeking a Mid-Level R&D Scientist to lead the development and optimization of bio-based, biocompatible adhesive materials for medical applications.
This role will focus on advancing the Bio2Skin platform and translating scientific insights into scalable, high-performance formulations.
What You'll Do - Design, synthesize, and characterize bio-based polymeric adhesives for skin-contact medical devices - Develop and optimize polyester-based formulations, ensuring controlled adhesion and biocompatibility - Perform chemical, physical and mechanical testing to evaluate performance under various conditions - Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (chemists, biomedical engineers, clinicians) to bridge lab-scale innovation with product development - Contribute to scientific publications, patents, and regulatory documentation supporting product validation and certification.
What We're Looking For - PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields - At least 2 years of industrial R&D experience, preferably in adhesive systems or polymeric materials - Proven experience with adhesive formulation, polymer synthesis, and characterization techniques (FTIR, DSC, TGA, rheometry, SEM, adhesion, etc.)- Strong understanding of bio-based polymers, skin-bonding systems, and structure–property relationships in polymer networks - Knowledge of medical device standards and biocompatibility requirements (e.G. ISO *****, MDR) is an asset - Creative thinker with a problem-solving mindset, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a deeptech startup environment.
