Textile Designer Job Overview
At our organization, we are seeking an innovative and experienced Textile Designer to join our team. This role involves the end-to-end creation of home textile designs, from concept and research to fabric development and production.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of market trends and be able to create original, trend-driven patterns and specify textile constructions that align with product requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Research and Concept Development: Research market and trend directions to inform textile concepts, including researching consumer behavior and analyzing competitors.
* Design Creation: Develop custom designs for home textiles, including both surface patterns and fabric constructions (weaves, knits, jacquards, embossing, textures).
* Collaboration and Communication: Create mood boards, presentations, and concept imagery for internal teams and clients, as well as build and release textile specifications, repeats, and production-ready packages.
* Sourcing and Supply Chain Management: Partner with suppliers to develop fabrics that meet design intent, quality standards, and cost requirements.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with sales and product development to review and revise artwork and constructions, ensuring timely delivery and meeting customer expectations.
Requirements
* Education: A degree in Fashion Design, Textiles, or a related field is required.
* Experience: At least 3 years of experience in textile design, with a proven track record of creating successful designs.
* Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator; strong understanding of color theory, fabric construction, and textile technologies.
* Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and project management skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
