About the Project
We are building The House of Hyperstition — a 1000m² cultural coliving, coworking, and spa space in the historic center of Porto.
Part artist-residency, part hacker house, part urban sanctuary, the House combines:
* mid-term coliving
* coworking + deep-work spaces
* small art & creation studios
* a social spa (sauna, cold plunge, tea house)
* community events, workshops, and residencies
You will work directly with the project director during the setup and pre-launch phase.
This is a highly dynamic environment with lots of moving parts — ideal for someone organized, hands-on, and excited to help build a space from scratch.
⸻
Role: Operations Manager
We would like to fill the role as soon as possible.
What you will help build:
You will be the founder's right hand during the setup of the House — coordinating practical tasks across the building, garden, and community spaces:
* Plan and set up the kitchen, storage systems, and common spaces
* Help furnish rooms (ordering, receiving deliveries, assembling, organizing)
* Coordinate the garden build-out, outdoor showers, and spa areas
* Assist with contractors (plumbing, electricity, carpentry, internet installation)
* Maintain checklists and ensure tasks move forward smoothly
* Create simple operational systems for cleaning, maintenance, and logistics
* Occasionally supervise small teams or tradespeople on-site
This role blends operations, logistics, problem-solving, and hands-on work.
⸻
Requirements
* Native or fluent Portuguese (you will speak to contractors, utilities, suppliers)
* Good English
* High executive function: organized, reliable, follows through, anticipates needs
* Comfortable coordinating small projects from start to finish
* Ability to communicate clearly and directly
* Hands-on: not afraid to move things, assemble furniture, check installations
* Basic understanding of building systems (electricity, heating, water) is a plus
* Strong digital skills (Notion, Google Drive, messaging workflows, etc.)
* EU citizenship or Portuguese work permit
⸻
Who You Are
We are looking for someone who is:
* Solution-oriented and proactive
* Flexible with variable hours during the setup phase
* Comfortable in creative, non-traditional environments
* Detail-oriented but not precious
* Able to hold both the micro (today's tasks) and the macro (the evolving House)
* Interested in culture, art, wellness, or community spaces (a plus, not a requirement)
⸻
Compensation
€800–€1,500/month depending on weekly hours, experience, and availability.
Possibility to grow into a larger operations role once the House opens.
