Join a 5-Year Digital Transformation Journey! We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer (Java + Angular) to join a large-scale modernization program that will transform a business-critical platform used worldwide for maritime and air distribution planning. This is NOT a maintenance project. This is a true transformation initiative where architecture, technology decisions, and engineering best practices will shape the future of the platform. The current solution is a legacy monolithic system (Java 7/8 and AS400). Your mission will be to help redesign and rebuild the platform from scratch using modern technologies, cloud-native principles, and a microservices architecture. Based across Portugal and Germany, you'll join an international team working on a strategic roadmap with an expected duration of at least 5 years. WHAT YOU WILL DO * Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and modern responsive frontends using Angular. * Contribute to the migration of a large legacy monolithic application into a microservices ecosystem. * Participate actively in architectural discussions and technical decision-making. * Help define engineering standards, best practices, and development processes. * Develop cloud-ready solutions and improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability. * Collaborate with international teams and business stakeholders across multiple locations. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR * Minimum 5 years of professional experience in software development. * Strong experience with Java and Angular development. * Solid experience designing and developing REST APIs and distributed systems. * Good understanding of Microservices Architecture. * Experience working with SQL Server or other relational databases. * Familiarity with Cloud environments and modern deployment practices. * Excellent communication skills and Fluent English (mandatory). NICE TO HAVE * Experience with modernization/migration projects or large-scale legacy systems. * Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. * Experience with cloud-native architectures.
