Job Description
Key Responsibilities May Include:
1. Oversee operational activities for third-party service centers within a designated region, ensuring full compliance with company standards, SLAs, safety guidelines, and operational policies.
2. Build and maintain strategic relationships with third-party service providers, consulting with site leaders to address challenges and implement operational improvements, including preventative maintenance programs for both equipment and facilities.
3. Leverage data and operational systems to evaluate site performance, identifying opportunities for enhancements in safety, operational efficiency, and cost savings.
4. Lead continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing performance data and audit results, driving corrective actions, and implementing cost-reduction strategies to improve profitability and operational consistency.
5. Assist in developing action plans based on audit results and continuous improvement opportunities, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and the third-party network's operational objectives.
6. Support negotiations related to costs, volumes, and service agreements, working in collaboration to ensure favorable outcomes and alignment with CHEP's financial targets.
7. Serve as a peer leader, providing guidance and sharing best practices across the third-party representative network to promote operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and process consistency.
8. Standardize processes across the third-party network to ensure consistent service delivery, operational efficiency, and adherence to company-wide objectives.
9. Responsible for leading successful supply chain network of subcontracted service centres - including plants, on site solutions, and outstores / hubs – and transport operations, in Portugal.
10. Effectively delivering customer perceived value and differentiation, through a cost efficient and sustainable supply chain.
11. Contact point for supply chain activities, both for external partners and internal stakeholders in supply chain and commercial business units. Member of the Portugal Country Leadership Team
12. Contributing directly to strategic and tactical projects, and supporting supplier procurement and transformation programmes
13. Reporting directly to the Director, Supply Chain, Iberia – part of a wider department of management of subcontractor operations for in Iberia region and integrated in the Differentiated Markets region (Iberia, UK, Nordics, NL)
14. Collaborating with Supply Chain functions of Planning, Carrier Management, Cost Optimization, Logistics Execution, Process Engineering & Technology, SCEX, Quality, & Safety
15. This role represents Supply Chain in the Portugal Country Leadership Team and has indirect reporting line to Portugal Country GM, collaborating with Commercial Leaders, Customer Service (CSO), Retail, and Asset Mgmt.
Qualifications
16. Business/management, logistics, or technical engineering degree
17. Continuous improvement / Lean Six Sigma
Experience
18. 5-8 years management in Subcontractor management / Site management
19. Lead & achieve results in multi-site
20. Negotiations in operations/transport with 3rd party service providers
21. Strong experience in Lean Six Sigma
Skills & Knowledge:
22. Able to communicate with all levels of an organization, both internal and external
23. Subcontractor management
24. Able to work independently and lead remote teams.
25. IT: Good working knowledge of Excel and SAP. Power BI an advantage.
