Synopsys is a world leader in providing semiconductor IP solutions for the automotive industry and is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer whose primary mandate is to ensure that Synopsys Automotive IPs comply with ISO 26262 and related standards for automotive functional safety and reliability. This position requires interactions with Synopsys’ internal development teams around the globe to ensure conformance to quality, functional safety, and automotive reliability requirements. What You’ll Be Doing:
Perform reviews, audits and assessment for Functional Safety as independent reviewer/auditor/assessor;
Create the documentation, from our side we generate the review/audit/assessment reports and all the instructions and guidelines to support their customer work (internal customers);
Applying best-in-class engineering practices and state-of-the-art methodologies to guarantee safety integrity in line with ISO 26262:2018 and related standards;
Conducting and reviewing functional safety analyses for hardware, software, or integrated HW-SW products, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 requirements;
Performing in-depth technical analyses on project designs to uncover potential bugs or weaknesses in development processes;
Engaging directly with customers to maintain strong relationships, proactively address technical issues, and resolve concerns with professionalism and expertise;
Managing business discussions and potential escalations, collaborating with higher management while maintaining integrity as an independent Functional Safety reviewer/assessor;
Continuously learning and applying new knowledge to review, assess, and improve customer projects, driving best practices and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Need:
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in system, hardware (analogue and/or digital), and/or embedded software development, spanning design to verification.
Proven track record in producing and managing detailed project documentation with full requirements traceability.
Solid knowledge and practical application of functional safety standards, particularly ISO 26262:2018.
Experience conducting functional safety analyses for HW, SW, or integrated HW-SW products in compliance with ISO 26262.
Strong analytical skills for technical evaluation, bug detection, and process improvement in engineering projects.
Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with customers and manage technical discussions and escalations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus.
