Job Description
The Sourcing and Procurement Specialist - Senior is responsible for sourcing and category management activities in assigned categories, such as Contract Transportation – Road Linehaul. In collaboration with business partners, the role involves driving the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
Responsibilities
* Perform category management, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract, performance, and risk management.
* Lead the execution of sourcing strategies for identified categories at international and/or regional levels to reduce the cost to serve.
* Analyze trends in and outside the company with robust screening of supply markets and continuous market intelligence for identifying innovative opportunities.
* Perform procurement reporting and data analysis to propose and execute cost/service improvement opportunities.
* Manage relationships and work proactively with relevant stakeholders to identify and prioritize sourcing needs to support the development of annual strategies and plans to achieve category goals.
* Understand business requirements across categories and define the sourcing strategy to ensure delivery of services in line with expectations.
* Lead the sourcing (RFx) process, including e-sourcing events, from start to finish for complex international projects, which includes setting up the bidding process, negotiating contracts, and liaising with legal counterparts to drive a contract to execution.
* Support S&P Procurement Excellence projects and initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:
* Relevant work experience in international procurement, strategic sourcing, and category management in an international environment, preferably within a multinational company.
* The ability to work independently, lead, and report on a strategic sourcing program in an international environment.
* Ability to analyze and interpret spend and cost data, research market trends, and manage supporting contract development activities.
* Strong stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills.
* Robust change management skills.
* Ability to run multiple sourcing projects simultaneously.
* Ability to work effectively in an international team environment and in a complex matrix organization.
* Contract management and strong negotiation skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Advanced level Microsoft office proficiency, including expertise in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* Ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver own work, sometimes working on short deadlines.
* Fluent English language skills (written and verbal). Fluency in another European language is a plus.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions for contracts.
* Awareness of strategic supplier management.
* User-friendliness with tools, systems, and web-based platforms.
* European nationality or Dutch work permit.
* Ability to work in a constructive and collaborative manner with international stakeholders and external third parties (suppliers).
