We are looking for a Laboratory Technician that will be passionate about assisting in paint quality control, resolution of problems and conducting all the necessary tests and reports to present our customers with a high-quality product.You will have the unique opportunity to report directly to our Laboratory Manager, be based on our factory in Portugal – Palmela, and cooperate with other colleagues from all over the world.With business in mind and people at heart, we always work together to influence our road ahead.
We want you to be part of our journey of growth and of an outstanding, global family.What you can look forward to in this role:Conduct quality control tests to paint samples during and after the production processProceed with Batch adjustment to fit characteristics inside specificationRaw Material analysis and COA evaluationDevelop formulas for Production and MTT systemFollow up Lab and Production trials for quality improvementsEvaluate Complaints and present final reportsPrepare experimental paints and test specimensKeep Lab Equipment database updated and proceed with internal calibration verification if neededEvaluate current and experimental coating systems according to agreed methods, standards and customer specificationsKeep accurate and complete records and produce quality reports of your laboratory activityEnsure maintenance, safety and tidiness of equipment used in P-LABFollow all guidelines and group procedures regarding Health & Safety and EnvironmentQualificationsLaboratory Technician degree or equivalent studiesStrong hands-on and quality orientation in the laboratoryAbility to plan and organize your tasksPrevious experience working in a coating laboratory would be an advantage but is not a requirement.Ability to communicate and write in English is preferable.Computer skills Teamwork orientedGlobal career possibilitiesIn Hempel we offer a variety of global career possibilities and many cross functional and cross-cultural working relationships.
