We are looking for an experienced AS400 RPG Developer to join our IT team and contribute to the development, optimisation, and evolution of our core systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities:
* Act as the point of contact between IT and the business to ensure that solutions meet organisational needs
* Translate conceptual requirements into functional and technical requirements and ensure alignment among all stakeholders
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand, challenge and refine functional and technical requirements
* Implement technical requirements
* Identify needs and support the design of new applications or the evolution of existing solutions
* Swiftly and effectively diagnose, analyse and resolve problems
* Manage the introduction of new features and updates to corporate systems, ensuring they align with the organisation's strategic objectives
* Define acceptance criteria and ensure the quality of user acceptance testing (UAT) to guarantee deliverables meet defined requirements
* Participate in transformation projects and promote continuous improvement initiatives in processes and systems
* Interact with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient communication and alignment between teams
Technical Requirements
Experience with SQL:
* Develop and optimise SQL objects such as stored procedures, functions, triggers, views and indexes (EVI/Radix)
* Analyse slow programmes and queries using Visual Explain and the Index Advisor in Access Client Solutions (ACS)
* Knowledge of data manipulation in JSON/XML format via SQL
* Experience in programming and analysis in System i environments, specifically in RPGLE, SQLRPGLE and CLLE
Integration and APIs:
* Develop, utilise and maintain Web Services (REST/SOAP) to communicate with external systems
Knowledge of Excel:
* For processing, cross-referencing and sharing data
Fluency in English, in terms of reading, writing and technical communication is also required
