We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and support the design, implementation, and optimization of data pipelines and data models that enable reliable reporting, analytics, and business intelligence. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL-based development, solid understanding of ETL processes, and the ability to deliver high-quality, scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using SQL and related technologies.
* Implement robust and scalable data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) processes to support business needs.
* Model and optimize SQL-based data structures (tables, views, stored procedures) to ensure accurate and efficient reporting and analytics.
* Analyse existing data workflows, identify performance issues, and implement improvements.
* Collaborate with analysts, data consumers, and other engineering teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
* Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems and processes.
* Support documentation, version control and best practices in data engineering development.
Required Skills & Experience
* Solid professional experience implementing ETL solutions using SQL.
* Strong background in data modelling, including designing structures to support analytics and reporting.
* Excellent SQL knowledge, including performance tuning, query optimization, and complex SQL development.
* Understanding of relational databases, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and indexing.
* Ability to design scalable and high-performance data solutions.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have (Optional)
* Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
* Experience with cloud-based data engineering (Azure, AWS, GCP).
* Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, or similar.
* Knowledge of Python or another scripting language.
