The BCA EUbusiness is now at an exciting turning point in their ambitions forhow data can enhance their customer proposition. This role is part ofa significant investment in strengthen the Decision Intelligencecapability in the EU business, through a continuous development andmaintenance of the Data Warehouse, expanding our use of Data Science &Machine learning solutions, developing new dashboards and fosteringthe adoption of these tools by the business users, promotingefficiencies and generating added value.
As aData Scientist working for BCA, you’ll be responsible for thedevelopment, maintenance and improvement of our machine learning dataproducts in the EU using our best-in-class framework.
Furthermore, from starting with simple proofs ofconcept through to model refinement and deployment you’ll be involvedin the development of new data products for the EU business.
The ideal candidate will have experience of statisticallearning approaches e.g regression, tree-based approaches, time-seriesmethods, clustering, etc, and will be innovative in model developmentand naturally curious, willing to try new approaches.
Solutions will be built using BCA’s best of breed DataScience solution (Python, SQL Server, Git, Databricks, MLflow, AzureMachine Learning, Azure Data Lake, Azure DevOps Services and AzureKubernetes Services).
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the on-going accuracy of BCA’s valuationmodels through the development of predictive models and machinelearning approaches, experimenting with new ideas to further enhanceour BCA Valuation product-set.
* Utilise models to providepricing intelligence to key stakeholders ensuring the direction of themarket in each country is understood.
* Explain theimplications of models and model insights to business stakeholders andexternal customers in an easy-to-understand way.
* Be able toidentify and suggest new opportunities where the Data Science Team canadd value to the BCA EU business.
KeySkills
* Experience of using a statistical language tobuild data products, preferably Python or R.
* An addedadvantage is experience with a well-rounded stack of data sciencelibraries, such as NumPy, Scikit-learn, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn,TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Statsmodels, and XGBoost, to effectivelyclean, preprocess, transform, model, and visualize datasets.
* Experience in object-oriented programming and packagebuilding is valued.
* Knowledge of a machine learningapproaches to model data (supervised/unsupervised analysis). E.g.Logistic regression, general linear models, decision trees, deeplearning, cluster analysis, etc.
* Exposure to data pipelinesfor both model training, evaluation and reporting/analytical purposes.
* Use of cloud infrastructure to deploy model to a productionenvironment would be beneficial.
* Experience of using SQL toextract data from source systems.
* Interest in datavisualization tools, such as PowerBi, for model performance monitoringis a plus.
* Excellent communication skills, including theconfidence to present to key stakeholders.
* Excellent written& oral communication skills, with an ability to interact with alllevels of end users and technical resources.
* Strong attentionto detail and proactive in identifying and owning issues as theyarise.Able to get up to speed quickly in understanding of the businessmetadata
