The Role
We are looking for our first powerhouse finance hire: a Financial Controller who understands both the fast-paced, high-margin world of client services (agencies) and the capital-intensive, transaction-heavy world of inventory-based e-commerce.
Right now, our management is holding the reins on high-level finance, and our day-to-day books are managed by a basic compliance accountant. We need you to step in, take absolute ownership of our financial ecosystem, and untangle the strings between our agency operations and our portfolio brands.
What You'll Do
* Architect Segment/Divisional Accounting: Implement rigorous tracking categories to perfectly separate revenue, software tools, and shared team resource costs between the Agency and each individual DTC brand under our corporate umbrella.
* Cash Flow & Inventory Forecasting: Build and maintain aggressive rolling cash flow models. You'll predict inventory cash cycles months in advance so we can strategically fund our owned brands using agency profits.
* Standardize & Codify: Build the financial playbook. You will clean up our historical data, design our monthly closing SOPs, and ensure our accounting engine runs completely on autopilot.
* Cross-Border Compliance Checkpoints: Oversee tax tracking (US economic nexus), corporate tax tracking (New Zealand), and foreign income structures alongside our external tax partners to pave a clean path for future brand exits/spin-offs.
* Management Right Hand: Provide clean, scannable weekly financial dashboards so the leadership team can pull strategic levers with absolute clarity.
What You Bring to the Party
* E-commerce + Agency Experience: You have explicitly managed finances for an agency, a DTC e-commerce brand, or ideally both. You speak the language of COGS, ROAS, 3PLs, inventory turns, and retainer-based billing.
* Tech-Savvy Systems Thinker: Deep proficiency with cloud accounting platforms (Xero, QuickBooks Online) and e-commerce financial stacks (Shopify, Stripe, ERPs).
* High-Growth Mentality: You thrive in a young, agile, fast-paced remote environment. You don't just flag problems; you design systems to solve them.
* Impeccable English Communication: You can translate complex numbers into simple, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
