Compliance CoordinatorLocation:Sines, Portugal (Site-Based)Sector:Construction / Industrial ProjectSalary:€40,000 – €75,000 (Dependent on Experience)Employer:International Main ContractorThe OpportunityAn international construction contractor delivering a major industrial project in Sines is seeking aSocial Compliance Coordinatorto support and oversee labour compliance across a live construction site.This role combines both administrative and coordination responsibilities, making it ideal for someone with either:Direct social / labour compliance experience,orConstruction experience with exposure to workforce compliance, site documentation, audits or subcontractor management.You will play a key role in ensuring subcontractors and workforce teams operate in line with local labour laws, ethical standards and company policies.Key ResponsibilitiesLabour & Workforce ComplianceMonitor subcontractor compliance with Portuguese labour legislation.Ensure all workforce documentation (contracts, right-to-work, insurance, permits) is accurate and up to date.Maintain organised compliance records for audits and inspections.Support onboarding checks for new subcontractors and site personnel.Site CoordinationAct as the on-site point of contact for labour compliance matters.Liaise with subcontractors, site management and HR teams.Assist with worker inductions relating to compliance and welfare standards.Monitor working hours, accommodation standards (if applicable) and welfare provisions.Audit & ReportingPrepare documentation for internal and external compliance audits.Track corrective actions and ensure follow-up completion.Maintain compliance trackers and site registers.Support implementation of company ESG and ethical labour policies.AdministrationManage compliance databases and digital filing systems.Ensure documentation is stored in line with GDPR requirements.Produce regular compliance reports for senior management.What We're Looking ForWe are open to candidates who meetone of the following profiles :Experience in social compliance, labour compliance or workforce compliance,orExperience working on construction projects with exposure to subcontractor management, documentation control, HR support, or site administration.Key attributes:Strong organisational skills.Attention to detail.Confident communicating with subcontractors and site teams.Ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment.Good understanding of basic employment or labour standards (training can be provided).
