currently looking for a Administrative Assistant to join CarboCode's IP team. This exciting position is a great opportunity for you to work for a developer of a wide range of innovative human care and food products, supporting world-class R&D, pilot-scale manufacturing and commercial operations. CarboCode's global patent portfolio covers a wide range of technologies, including advanced chemical synthesis, biocatalysis, and biotechnological production of bioactive molecules for nutrition, medical, and cosmetic applications. The Intellectual Property (IP) function plays a key role in supporting the company's innovation-driven culture by ensuring that inventions are properly documented, protected, and managed.This newly created IP Administrative Assistant role will support the IP Manager in the day-to-day administrative and operational activities related to the company's patent portfolio. You will work closely with the IP Manager, R&D scientists, and external patent counsel, gaining exposure to innovative technologies and the practical management of intellectual property within a growing biotech organization.This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on experience in IP administration and to grow within the intellectual property field over time.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide administrative support to the IP Manager in managing the global patent portfolio;
* Assist with invention disclosure processes, including collecting, organizing, and maintaining invention-related documentation;
* Support the coordination with external patent attorneys and service providers for patent filings, prosecution, and formal correspondence;
* Maintain and update IP databases, deadlines, and tracking systems to ensure timely filings and actions;
* Prepare and organize documents related to patent applications, renewals, and portfolio reviews;
* Assist with internal IP reporting, summaries, and presentation materials;
Support the organization of IP-related meetings, including patent committees and internal reviews;
* Help ensure compliance with internal IP procedures and documentation standards.
Qualifications and requirements:
* Educational background to degree level, preferably in life sciences, chemistry, biotechnology, engineering, law, or a related field;
* Initial experience or strong interest in intellectual property, patent administration, or legal/administrative support roles;
* Very good organizational skills and attention to detail;
* Proficiency with standard office tools (e.g., MS Office) and willingness to learn IP management systems;
* Good written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).
