We are in constant transformation and looking for a self-motivated, proactive, and flexible Securities Settlements Analyst to join our Custody team in Lisbon. What does the Operations area do? It provides service excellence in operations focusing on client needs. We do this by ensuring best practices of execution on services related to Funds, Cash / Securities Management and Settlements, Payments, Reconciliation, and Control of Credit Operational Business, as well as Account Maintenance documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Book and monitor security transactions against payment to ensure timely settlements.
2. Monitor cancellations and corrections of transactions.
3. Systematically chase pending trades, overdue settlements, and reconciliation differences (cash and securities) and handle broker enquiries.
4. Transfer client positions free of payment (incoming and outgoing).
5. Check and repair rejected SWIFT instructions.
6. Manage cash balances of the custodian.
What are we looking for?
- Availability to work night shift and/or rotational schedule.
- 1 to 3 years of proven experience in settlement of equities and debt securities.
- Basic experience in Security and Counterparty Masterfile, reconciliation, and investigation.
- Knowledge of settlement operations and trade processing of equities and debt securities in all markets.
- Knowledge of financial products and their settlement processes.
- Strong foundation in reconciliation of trade-processing and security transfers.
- Ability to analyze all business-related SWIFT formats (MT54x).
- Proficiency in Excel and Access.
- Fluency in English.
