Embedded Motion Control Hardware Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Motion Control Hardware Engineer to design and develop high-performance motion control hardware solutions for various industries.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing analog and digital hardware for embedded motion control, including power stages, DC/DC converters, gate drivers, and sensor interfaces. They will execute complete PCB schematic and layout development using tools like Altium Designer, considering signal integrity, EMC, thermal constraints, and manufacturability. The engineer will ensure designs are optimized for cost-effective manufacturing by considering assembly processes, component availability, and reliability, while integrating Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams (firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering) to ensure seamless integration and alignment on specifications. They will support safety and reliability engineering activities, including FMEA, FMEDA, and Fault Tree Analysis, ensuring compliance with applicable functional safety standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 13849, and IEC 61508, with a focus on systems involving motion control and power electronics.
Responsibilities:
* Design and develop analog and digital hardware for embedded motion control.
* Execute complete PCB schematic and layout development.
* Ensure designs are optimized for cost-effective manufacturing.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Support safety and reliability engineering activities.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in embedded hardware design, preferably in motion control or power electronics.
* Strong knowledge of analog/power/mixed-signal circuit design.
* Proficiency in ECAD tools (preferably Altium) and SPICE simulation tools.
* Hands-on experience with PCB layout, signal and power integrity considerations, and hardware bring-up.
* Solid understanding of EMC design practices, thermal management, and rugged embedded systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong communication and documentation skills in cross-functional engineering teams.
* Proficiency in laboratory work and instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power analyzers.
* Experience with ECAD tools, especially Altium Designer, and familiarity with other engineering design and automation software.
* Solid understanding of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) principles and best practices.
* Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) in electronic production environments.
* Experience with electric motor control systems, including BLDC, PMSM, and gear motors.
