Digital Humanities;
History of Science and Technology.Admission Requirements:Higher education degree in History or related fields;
Fluent written and spoken English and Portuguese;
Ability to integrate into an interdisciplinary research team, participating in seminars and scientific discussion groups;
Evidence of ability to carry out the Work Plan described in this call (through presentation of academic work, participation in event organization, etc.);
Preferential factor: enrollment in a Master's Programme in Digital Humanities.In accordance with FCT Research Fellowship Regulation no. ******** of December 16 (Articles 3 and 6), candidates must, as a condition for the award of the fellowship, be effectively enrolled in a study cycle leading to an academic degree or in a non-degree course.
Non-degree courses must comply with paragraph e) of no. 3 of Article 4 of Decree-Law no. ******* of March 24 and must be offered by a higher education institution in association with at least one R&D unit, and the course plan must fall within one or more research areas of the unit.Work Plan The work plan, to be carried out within the KNOW.AFRICA team, will consist of:Research knowledge in History of Science and Technology – networks, production, and national and international circulation of knowledge;
Georeferencing and compilation of 19th-century itineraries to Angola (namely F. Welwitsch, Capelo & Ivens, and H. Carvalho);
Support in the construction of the Database;
Organization of an internal HCTA research seminar focused on the Master's thesis topic;
Support in organizing events (conferences/seminars) within the KNOW.AFRICA project;
Preparation of a scientific article jointly with the KNOW.AFRICA team.Applicable legislation and regulations:The granting of the Research Scholarship will be carried out upon the signing of a contract between the University of Évora and the scholarship holder, according to the version in Annex I, pursuant to the Research Scholarship Statute (Law no. ******* of August 18, as amended) and considering the provisions of other applicable legislation and regulations, namely, the Research Grant Regulations of the University of Évora (published by Order no. *********, of July 22, ****), and the Research Grant Regulations of the Science and Technology Foundation, I.P. (Regulation no. ********, of July 22, ****).

Place of work:The work will be developed at IHC, polo da U.E. The selected candidate will be notified by email.To ensure the right of prior hearing of interested parties, the Final Classification project will be announced by any written means to all interested parties.After communicating the provisional list of the results of the evaluation, candidates have a period of 10 working days to express their opinion in a preliminary hearing of interested parties.
Based on the final ranking list, a reserve selection list will be drawn up, to be used for the possible recruitment of new scholarship holders within the scope of this project, up to the duration of the scholarship, which may be used in the eventuality of the first ranked candidate withdrawing, failing to present the mandatory documentation, or in the event of the scholarship holder canceling their scholarship early.
In the eventuality that none of the candidates demonstrates the profile required to carry out the work plan, the jury reserves the right not to award the scholarship.Application deadline and submission of applications The tender is open 10 March of **** to 24 March of **** and the results of the selection will be published by 31 of March of ****.
