7. Deliberations of the Selection Committee
7.1. Scoring of Candidates
Each jury member conducts their reasoned assessment, scoring each candidate in relation to each aspect on a scale of 0 to 100 points, rounded to one decimal place, considering the criteria approved for each aspect, with a degree of rigor adjusted to the category for which the competition is open.
7.2. Public Hearing
The jury may hold public hearings, under equal conditions for all candidates approved on absolute merit, with the purpose of personally clarifying the evaluation elements contained in the documentation submitted by the candidates.
If such public hearings are deemed necessary, they will take place between the 30th and 70th day following the application submission deadline. All candidates will be informed by email at least ten working days in advance of the date and location where these public hearings will be held.
7.3. Final Result
The Final Result (FR) of the evaluation of each candidate by each jury member is calculated using the weighting formula of the various curricular aspects:
FR = (0.50*VMC) + (0.25*VEMP) + (0.03*VTC) + (0.02*VGU) + (0.20*VPCP)
which reflects the weights associated with each aspect.
Following the individual reasoned assessment, each jury member constructs their ranked list of candidate evaluations, with which they participate in the votes that lead to the decision and final ranking of candidates in accordance with point 6, with no possibility of a tie between candidates in the final classification.
7.4. Jury Deliberations
7.4.1. Any deliberation will result from Article 17, No. 12 of the Regulation, applicable by virtue of Article 83-A of the ECDU, which determined its approval with a view to implementing the norms of that legal diploma, covering the procedural processing of competitions, namely the system of evaluation and final classification. Consequently, under Article 17, No. 12 of the aforementioned Regulation, the jury will deliberate through a nominal vote based on the selection criteria adopted and disclosed for the approval and ranking of candidates, with an absolute majority required for any deliberation, and abstentions not permitted.
7.4.2. Seriation Methodology
In the different votes, each member of the Selection Committee must respect the ranking list, observing the following in each vote:
* the first voting round is intended to determine the candidate placed in first place by counting the number of votes each candidate received for that place;
* if a candidate obtains an absolute majority of votes for the first place, must be placed in the respective position and removed from the vote. The procedure will start to choose the candidate who will be positioned in the second place of the voting round;
* if no candidate obtains an absolute majority of votes for the first place, a new voting round will be held, which will only include candidates who have achieved votes for the first place, upon removing the least voted candidate in the previous vote for that place;
* if there is a tie between two or more candidates in the least voted position, a tiebreak vote between them will be held, counting the number of relative first positions for each, with the least voted being removed;
* if a tie still remains between two or more candidates in the least voted position, but the number of those candidates has been reduced in the previous voting round, a further tiebreak vote shall be held only between candidates tied for the least voted position, counting the number of relative first positions for each, with the candidate least voted being removed;
* if the tie remains between two or more candidates in the least-voted position, without reducing the number of candidates tied in the least-voted position in the previous voting round, the decision will be made by the quality vote of the President of the Selection Committee or by a casting vote, according to the situation. The candidate voted by the President of the Selection Committee will be chosen to integrate the following voting round for the same place;
* if there is a tie when only two or more candidates remain for the first place, the tiebreaker is made through the casting vote of the President of the Selection Committee or by the exercise of the tiebreaker vote, according to the situation;
the candidate chosen for the first place will leave the votes and then begin the selection procedure for the candidate to place in second place, repeating the process mentioned in the previous paragraphs for the subsequent places until there is a single ordered list of candidates.
The application must necessarily include the following documents:
* Doctoral certificate, except for cases corresponding to the attainment of the Doctorate degree at the University of Porto. The candidate selected for the position who holds a doctoral degree obtained abroad must present the recognition or registration (as applicable) of their degree by the time of signing the contract, in accordance with Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16, under penalty of exclusion.
* Curriculum Vitae, in Portuguese, containing all relevant information for the evaluation of the application, as well as for demonstrating compliance with the criteria established in point 5 of this notice, considering the evaluation and ranking criteria set out in point 6.3 of this notice for the aspects and parameters of the evaluation;
* Works mentioned in the submitted curriculum that allow for the verification of the requirements of point 5 and the evaluation of the criteria outlined in point 6.3 of this notice. Additionally, candidates may highlight in the submitted curriculum up to ten of these works that they consider most representative of the activity they have developed, indicating the reasons that justify the emphasis given to the selected documents;
* File with the scientific-pedagogical project, in Portuguese.

The documents may be integrated into folders in compressed format (zip, rar, 7z), but it is necessary to consider the system's upload limit, which is set at a maximum of 720MB per file or compressed folder. Each application may submit multiple files or compressed folders, each with a limit of 720 MB, with no limit on the total number of files/compressed folders submitted.
8.4. For the purposes of evaluating applications, any documents accessible via links will not be considered, except for those referring to publications with a DOI.
8.5. The documents mentioned in point 8.2 must be submitted, preferably, in a non-editable format.
8.6. Non-compliance with the provisions in 8.1 will result in the exclusion of the application.
8.7. The lack of submission or late submission of the documents referred to in items a) to e) of no. 8.2 will result in the non-admission of the application.
9. Notification of the results and requests for a prior hearing
9.1. The Human Resources Office of the Common Resources and Services Centre of the University of Porto will notify the candidates of the ranking of the administrative admission or non-admission to the call, based on fulfilling or non-fulfilling the conditions established in the current legislation and in point no. 2 of this Public Notice, and the conditions established regarding the application instruction referred in paragraph 6.2.
9.2. The candidates who have not been administratively admitted, or have not been approved on absolute merit, as well as candidates who appear on the ranked list of candidates in places that will not allow them to fill in the post announced, may request a prior hearing under the terms of Articles 121 and 122 of the Code of Administrative Procedures.
