Join Continental's Digital Solutions Department as a Data Engineer.
In Digital Solutions, we drive innovation for connected mobility and deliver cutting-edge digital products to our global fleet customers.
As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for the development and deployment of advanced data driven solutions, transforming sensor and usage data from tires and vehicles into solutions that enhance safety, reduce costs, and extend tire lifecycle for growth of our fleet business.
Key responsibilities
:
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest IoT/telematics data from connected tires, vehicles, and external sources;
Ensure pipelines support both real-time and batch processing needs;
Integrate heterogeneous data sources into unified storage and processing environments;
Develop and manage cloud-based data platforms for storage, processing, and access;
Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency;
Implement monitoring and logging to ensure reliable operation of data systems;
Implement data validation, cleansing, and transformation processes to ensure high-quality datasets for analytics and modeling;
Apply data governance standards, metadata management, and lineage tracking;
Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), especially for customer telematics data.
Qualifications
Academic degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field;
>2 years of experience with programming in Python and SQL, developing data pipelines and realizing data integrations;
Data pipelining (AirFlow);
Big data and distributed processing (Spark; Databricks; Hadoop; Kafka; DBT; etc.)
Working experience dealing with customer requests;
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure);
Data modeling and databases (relational; NoSQL; time-series);
Experience with Agile project management methods (Scrum, Kanban);
Experience working in an international team (desirable);
Proficient English language skills (spoken / written).
