Vida Plena is an innovative hospitality group founded in Lisbon in 2018. Here, we create spaces and experiences that feel effortless, welcoming, and grounded in simplicity. Now, as we deepen our Italian roots, we're looking for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at Leonetta, our cozy handmade pasta trattoria. This is more than a role—it's an opportunity to bring real Italian vibes to the table with menus that feel authentic, honest, and full of soul - food that simply feels right.

Your Role:

As Head Chef, you will lead the culinary identity of Leonetta, supporting the development of menus inspired by the simplicity and warmth of true Italian cooking. This is a hands-on leadership role where your expertise, precision, and dedication to Italian hospitality will set the tone for excellence every day.

* Build and nurture a strong kitchen team, fostering a culture of collaboration and craftsmanship—where techniques are honed, knowledge is passed down, and every plate tells a story.
* Refine our offerings, honoring Italy's rich culinary heritage while keeping flavors light, fresh, and unpretentious.
* Create an atmosphere of true Italian hospitality, where food is shared, stories are told, and guests feel at home from the very first bite.

Your Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Culture

* Build and nurture a strong kitchen team, fostering a culture of collaboration and craftsmanship—where techniques are honed, knowledge is passed down, and every plate tells a story.
* Recruit, train, and nurture a high-performing team grounded in respect, collaboration, and craftsmanship.
* Work hand-in-hand with FOH leaders to deliver warm, seamless, hospitality-driven service.

Sourcing & Sustainability

* Build meaningful relationships with farmers, artisans, and trusted suppliers who reflect our values.
* Source seasonal, sustainable, and exceptional ingredients — local when possible, Italian when essential.
* Champion sustainability in sourcing, prep, and operations.

Cost & Kitchen Operations

* Monitor food costs, labor, and inventory with care and precision.
* Implement smart systems for prep, ordering, and waste reduction that support both quality and efficiency.
* Maintain a well-organized, clean kitchen and ensure equipment is always in top condition.

Cross-functional Collaboration

* Partner closely with our internal support teams — HR, Operations, Logistics, and Finance — to keep everything running smoothly.
* Contribute to new openings and projects across Vida Plena as we grow.
