Job Opportunity: Country Manager – TAVI (Italy)

A leading international medical device company is seeking an experienced and visionary C Country Manager to lead its Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) portfolio in Portugal.
This is a high-impact, strategic role for a proven leader in the structural heart space—combining commercial leadership, clinical engagement, and market development. You’ll drive national growth, ensure clinical adoption of cutting-edge transcatheter valve technologies, and represent Portugal within a broader regional framework.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute the national business strategy for the TAVI portfolio in alignment with corporate goals.
* Identify market opportunities, define customer segmentation, and prioritize key accounts.
* Lead market access initiatives, including reimbursement strategy and engagement with regional health authorities.
* Monitor competitive dynamics and market trends to inform go-to-market tactics and positioning.
* Drive revenue growth, procedural adoption, and market share through hands-on leadership and collaboration with sales and clinical teams.
* Define KPIs and regularly report on performance metrics tied to business goals.
* Manage distributor relationships or third-party partners, ensuring alignment with company standards and objectives.
* Implement pricing strategies tailored to market conditions and corporate policies.
Clinical & Stakeholder Engagement
* Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and hospital procurement leaders.
* Support training, proctoring, and education initiatives to ensure safe and effective use of TAVI technologies.
* Collaborate with clinical affairs teams to support trials, real-world evidence collection, and post-market surveillance efforts.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Leadership
* Partner with medical, regulatory, marketing, and operations teams to deliver cohesive and compliant customer support.
* Represent Portugal in regional business reviews and strategic planning forums.
* Inspire and lead local team members and cross-functional matrix resources, fostering a high-performance culture.
Ideal Profile
* Proven leadership experience in structural heart, interventional cardiology, or high-growth medtech markets.
* Deep knowledge of the TAVI space, including clinical pathways, reimbursement landscape, and procedural dynamics.
* Demonstrated success in building and executing commercial strategies within the Portugal healthcare system.
* Strong relationships with KOLs, healthcare providers, and hospital decision-makers.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, both internally and externally.
* Fluent in Portuguese and English.
