About the Role

, we are seeking a
Cyber Security Engineer
to join an international project supporting the
Academy Learning Environment (ALE)
.
This role focuses on developing and maintaining security architecture documentation, supporting system accreditation, and ensuring compliance with security standards. The position requires a hands-on professional with deep technical expertise and strong analytical and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver services in an
agile and iterative model
, organized into weekly sprints with defined deliverables and acceptance criteria.
* Develop and maintain
system descriptions
for ALE systems, including network connections, physical locations, and hardware/software inventories.
* Define and implement the
Security Accreditation Plan (SAP)
, ensuring the system meets accreditation requirements for operational readiness.
* Conduct
High-Level Security Risk Assessments (SRA)
to identify assets, threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigations.
* Create and maintain
System-Specific Security Requirement Statements (SSRS)
, aligning controls with applicable policies and standards.
* Develop and update
Security Operating Procedures (SecOPs)
for both administrators and end users, covering areas such as privilege management, patching, logging, data handling, and secure usage.
* Design and document
Security Test and Verification Plans (STVP)
to validate control effectiveness and ensure compliance.
* Collaborate closely with the
Technical Capability (TeC)
team to support accreditation, audits, and continuous improvement of security practices.
Requirements
* Valid
Security Clearance
(NATO Secret or equivalent).
* 5+ years of experience
in Cyber Security Engineering within complex or enterprise-level environments.
* Proven background in:
* Designing and implementing secure, scalable solution architectures.
* Applying and managing technical, physical, and procedural security controls.
* Conducting
risk assessments
and leading incident response activities.
* Supporting or leading
system accreditation processes
.
* Strong communication skills in
English (written and verbal)
.
* Experience producing documentation such as SOPs, security guidelines, and technical manuals.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable
* Experience working with
NATO
or
NCI Agency
environments.
* Knowledge of
ISO/IEC 27001
or equivalent standards.
* Familiarity with configuration, risk, and documentation management tools.
* Experience supporting
audits and compliance assessments
.
* Understanding of
Agile delivery methodologies
.
