We're on the lookout for an awesome Mechanical Engineer | Optical & Hardware Development | Health & Medtech| Photonics | Personalized Medicine to join our team on a fractional basis as we continue our mission to revolutionize personalized medicine.
About your Role / What will you be doing?
As our Mechatronics Engineer, you will be expected to be an innovative, deadline-driven engineer to join our team. The responsibilities include improving existing mechanical systems, developing new product concepts and prototypes and designing and testing mechanical and electronic automated systems. You will be expected to:
* Design, develop and improve innovative electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices.
* Develop test plans and protocols and execute prototype testing and design verification testing.
* Creating automated systems and control software
* Conducting research, documenting findings, and presenting reports at meetings.
* Developing design documents, schematics and component specifications for mechanical parts and final products using 3D Modelling software through the document control process.
* Performs detailed system tolerance analyses to achieve desired product performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements;
* Participates in risk management activities (e.g. DFMEA) and implements risk mitigation strategies;
* Attending workshops, training sessions, and conferences to network with others and stay on top of field advancements.
* Effectively interfaces with suppliers to source and fabricate components;
* Other duties as assigned as necessary.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
* BSc or higher in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or similar.
* Highly proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCad and similar 3D Modelling software.
* Strong mathematical, analytical, and creative thinking skills.
* Strong technical drawing skills.
* Bonus: Experience in embedded system design/programming, experience with medical devices or highly regulated environments, knowledge of ISO 13485
* Startup experience is a big plus.
* Must be able to communicate effectively and keep detailed documentation.
* Ability to work in a team or alone.
* Self-starter with a passion for engineering.
