About the role:
As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, automated solutions that empower our real-time, life-saving ecosystem. Your primary focus will be on building self-service platforms, optimizing developer workflows, and ensuring a robust CI/CD pipeline to streamline product delivery and enhance reliability.
You will collaborate closely with development teams to create automated systems that scale with their AWS cloud infrastructure, improve security posture, and elevate our SLA standards. By researching and integrating cutting-edge tools and processes, you will drive innovation in developer experience and operational efficiency, enabling teams to focus on delivering impactful features faster and more reliably
What you'll do:
1. Focus on automation and reducing operational overhead.
2. Empower developers rather than simply maintain infrastructure.
3. Forward-looking approach, focusing on researching and integrating automation solutions.
4. You will be part of a DevOps team that will play a significant role in the definition and implementation of the AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes platform strategy, HA/ DR, including architecture, design, roadmaps, and enabling various apps to adopt such technologies.
5. Working in a collaborative culture with Dev and App owners.
6. Part of the job also includes resolving JIRA tickets in the areas of Cloud, CICD, deployments, monitoring, etc.
7. Willingness to challenge the status quo to bring new ideas and innovation to the team
8. Responsible for ongoing maintenance and support of internal tools, improving system health and reliability
9. Document and provide cross-training to peers for projects and products worked on.
10. Ensure service uptimes to maintain the SLA-driven uptime.
Requirements:
11. 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, SRE, or Platform Engineer.
12. Strong hands-on experience with AWS networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, NLB/ALB).
13. Deep knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS networking (CNI, CoreDNS, ingress controllers, service meshes, network policies).
14. Experience with voice protocols such as RTP, SIP, and VoIP-related traffic optimization.
15. Proven experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).
16. Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash).
17. Familiarity with monitoring & logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.), including voice/media traffic monitoring.
18. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Nice to have:
19. Experience with multi-region/multi-account networking.
20. Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
21. Knowledge of GitOps practices (ArgoCD, Flux).
22. Experience with cost optimization strategies in cloud environments.
