Our client is a multinational company investing in its growth in Portugal.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Insurance Accountant.
Description
Ensure the accuracy and reliability of accounting data under FGAAP and IFRS;
Perform account analysis and justification within the assigned scope;
Maintain proper audit trail and documentation for accounting processes;
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to collect inputs and align information;
Conduct financial analyses and present clear conclusions;
Identify improvement opportunities and follow up on their implementation;
Contribute to quarterly closings under local GAAP and IFRS;
Review and control Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts;
Validate the quality of financial data;
Participate in projects and continuous improvement initiatives;
Work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, IT, Actuarial, and Internal Control.
Profile
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Audit, or a related field
6 to 10 years of experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of insurance accounting
Experience with IFRS standards (especially IFRS 9 and IFRS 17 preferred)
Familiarity with accounting tools such as SAP, Oracle, CODA, or similar
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools
Fluent in English (mandatory); French is a strong plus
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
Proactive, organized, and solution-oriented
