The Role: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Lisbon
Work Model: 3 days remote from Portugal
Sector: Financial Services
Languages: English (B2 - C1)
Eligibility: Currently living in Portugal and be legally authorized to work there
Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help design and maintain modern, cloud-based data solutions. You will work inside a Scrum team, building reliable data pipelines, modelling datasets, and supporting analysts and internal users.
Mandatory Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
At least 6 years of experience as Data Engineer
At least 2 years of experience working with AWS
Snowflake experience (SnowPro certification is a plus)
Technical Skills:
AWS (S3, ECS, Lambda, RDS, SNS/SQS, IAM, CloudWatch)
Orchestration tools (Airflow, Step Functions, Prefect)
Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform)
SQL
Python and data libraries
What You'll Be Doing:
Data Engineering
Data pipeline development (batch + streaming)
Integration of sources such as APIs, FTP/SFTP
Handling and optimizing large datasets
Query performance tuning
Data Modelling
Creation of database objects (tables, views, procedures, scripts)
Experience with data quality checks and validation
Metadata documentation and data governance contribution
