Position Description:
Your future duties and responsibilities:
1. Manage a portfolio of test projects or the tests of a Tribe.
2. Forecast the budget required, follow-up the activity, costs, budget, quality and timeline.
3. Manage the test activity from the initial scoping activities until the end of the insurance period of the project while ensuring the quality of the deliverables and providing the required supports along the project.
Main Functions:
1. Ensure the scoping and test design of multiple projects or a Tribe:
- Alert the project regarding any missing document or discrepancies regarding testing documentation.
- Organise workshops to draft the overall test strategy.
- Elaborate and prepare the different test levels and types required.
- Organise users inputs during the test phases.
- Ensure the development, validation and communication of all test design deliverables, in accordance with the commitments of the team and in compliance with applicable standards.
- Report the progress of the test design to the project manager or the squad and his/her hierarchy.
- Ensure the test management within one or more projects, or within a tribe:
- Develop and monitor the planning, macro-calculations and detailed calculations of the different types and levels required for the test.
- Identify the necessary means (material, resources) for the test.
- Identify, monitor and report the test-related risks and respective action plans.
- Organise the work to be performed by his team and inform the stakeholders about the progress.
- Control and follow-up the team commitments to the project or the squad regarding planning, budget and quality.
- Follow-up the delegation framework of a small project by providing steering support to the resource in charge of the tests (validation of the test strategy, budget and planning, design deliverables and closure activities).
- Ensure the tests execution within one or more projects, or a Tribe, in compliance with the standards:
- Decide the Go/No Go to start the tests.
- Ensure the user participation in the test process.
- Ensure the test execution complying with the commitments of the team.
- Ensure the registration of the test results and defects in the reference tool.
- Report the test progress to the project manager or the squad and his/her hierarchy.
- Elaborate a report in accordance with the commitments of the team.
- Ensure the closure activities of the tests within a project or a squad:
- Elaborate the test report.
- Provide the necessary inputs to the closure report.
- Identify the improvement axis regarding estimations, processes and procedures.
- Ensure the update of the reference documentation.
- At the end of the project or a phase perform a review with each resource of the test team.
- Ensure a functional and transversal management role for the test players:
- Ensure the communication to the stakeholders through the creation of test reports.
- Manage project committees and rituals (test progress & defects).
- Report the required information for the Go/No Go.
- Contribute to the identification and correction of any anomalies:
- Manage resources and plan the team organisation.
- Participate in the definition of the resources objectives in conjunction with their line manager and monitor their progress.
- Provide methodological support on specific topics.
Autonomy:
1st level: The test manager is able to schedule and organise his own working time as well as other resources, set priorities within his/her scope and manage any issue regarding the processes and procedures.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
1. Technical Background:
- Degree in Informatics or related areas.
- Understand the project's methodology.
- Knowledge of the test methodology principles and vocabulary (ISTQB).
- Experience in testing applications for life insurance or banking products (desirable).
- Skills & Basic Features:
- Essential:
- French and English language.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in Test activities.
- Able to manage a portfolio of projects.
- Able to manage different test teams under his portfolio scope.
- Good communication skills knowing how to adapt to different stakeholders (Sponsors, project managers, test leaders, developers, ...).
- Risk identification and follow-up.
- Coordination and motivation skills.
- Systematic, critical and logical thinking.
- Summarization capabilities.
- Be committed, demanding and pedagogue.
- Desirable:
