We are looking for a Linux Data Operations Engineer who is willing to relocate to join our Client's team in Brussels, Belgium.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Data Pipeline Operations: Manage and maintain Linux-based data pipelines, ensuring efficient and accurate data flows. Develop and maintain shell scripts for automating data processing, transformation, and loading tasks. Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data workflows and enhance data quality. 2. Job Scheduling and Release Management: Create, schedule, and manage jobs using Control-M to guarantee timely data processing and delivery. Plan and execute release management activities in coordination with the planning team. Monitor job execution, analyze logs, troubleshoot job failures, and ensure data integrity. 3. Incident Management: Identify and respond to data-related incidents, minimizing operational disruption. Perform root cause analyses to prevent recurrence and enhance data quality. Document incident details, resolution steps, and lessons learned for continuous improvement. 4. Data Management: Manage databases, perform queries, and resolve connectivity issues to ensure data availability. Work closely with data analysts and engineers to improve data governance and quality. Develop and maintain data quality checks to ensure accuracy and integrity. 5. Soft Skills: Apply analytical thinking to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues effectively. Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders to meet data project needs. Display flexibility and adaptability to address changing priorities and data requirements. Mandatory Qualifications: A strong background in Linux system administration, scripting, and data management. Experience in job scheduling (Control-M preferred) and release management. At least 6 years of relevant experience in data analytics or data management. Nice to Have: Basic knowledge of Ab Initio development and data governance principles.
