This person will design, implement, and evolve the enterprise observability capability across platforms and services, ensuring system health, performance, and reliability signals are visible, measurable, and actionable.TheObservability Engineerwill enable SRE, Platform Engineering, and Application Development teams to proactively detect, diagnose, and prevent issues by developing and maintaining robust logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting frameworks within a global operating model.TheObservability Engineerwill: Design and maintain enterprise logging, metrics, and tracing platforms; Define instrumentation standards for applications and infrastructure; Build dashboards aligned with SLOs and service‐health indicators; Optimize alerting frameworks to reduce noise and improve signal quality; Ensure telemetry pipelines are scalable, reliable, and cost‐efficient; Collaborate with SRE to improve visibility into error budgets and performance trends; Collaborate with Application Development to embed observability into service design; Continuously enhance detection speed and diagnostic capabilities.A typical day will include improving observability platform capabilities, analyzing telemetry data, tuning alerts, designing instrumentation standards, building dashboards, and working closely with SRE and engineering teams to strengthen visibility, reliability, and performance across services.This role includes daily collaboration with SRE, Platform Engineering, Application Development, and Service Operations, as well as interaction with cloud providers and tooling vendors.What you will need to succeed As anObservability Engineer, you will need: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience ; +4 years of experience in monitoring, observability, or SRE related roles ; Strong experience with observability tools (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, ELK, Datadog, Splunk, etc.) ; Experience implementing enterprise‐level logging and metrics platforms; Experience supporting cloud‐native or distributed systems environments; Experience designing scalable telemetry architectures; Experience working in cross‐regional or global teams (preferred); Strong knowledge of alert design and signal‐to‐noise optimization ; Deep understanding of metrics, logs, and distributed tracing concepts; Understanding of SLO‐driven monitoring strategies; Scripting capability for telemetry automation (Python, Bash, etc.); Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills; Ability to translate telemetry into actionable insights; Excellent communication skills – Fluency in English.What the company can offer you Have the opportunity to join a cross-functional team in an international company with a multicultural working environment!Observability Engineer (m/f/d) Hays Working for your tomorrow
