What will you do on a day-to-day basis?
Installing, Configuring and Patching SQL Server instances both single instances as well as instances in High Availability (Availability Groups), ensuring the defined versions and patches of the product.
Monitoring CQ & PROD environments and implementing improvements for the monitoring system.
Maintaining the environments secure by implementing the principle of the least privileges.
Ensuring each environment's performance through regular maintenance for indexes and statistics.
Troubleshooting performance problems by collaborating with the developer teams and solving the problems through right configurations and correct indexing.
Working with multiple environnements (DEV, CQ, Production) accros multiple domains.
Prioritizing the requests through ADO (Azure DevOps) and by using source control (ADO) for registering modifications.
Helping developer teams to develop T-SQL scripts needed for the operational procedures.
Accompanying product deployment procedures for every sprint and ensuring that environment safety and performance.
What knowledge and skills will you need to have to succeed in the position?
Proven experience with SQL Server ****+ multi-instance and high availability environments.
Expertise with Installation, Configuration, Patching, Backups/Restores, Snapshots, Rollbacks are required.
Very solid security knowledge and creativity for ensuring data safety.
Strong expertise with SQL Server performance optimization on index level (rowstore, columnstore, fulltext, in-memory) as well as deep understanding of the statistics.
Experience with partitioning is a bonus point.
Great observability knowledge (starting with the knowledge of the relevant SQL Server DMVs).
Outstanding T-SQL knowledge with SQL Server ****+.
Experience with PaaS is greatly appreciated.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices is not required but preferred.
Good knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL and Power BI are strong differentiation points but are not required.
Public Cloud experience (great understanding of Compute, Storage, Networking, Identity, etc) is a differentiation point.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in an Enterprise environment OR 7 years in any industry sector.
At least a secondary school qualification (A-Levels or equivalent).
Fluency in English and Portuguese.
Spanish language knowledge is a big plus.
