Network Platform Architect

We are partnering with a leading global logistics organisation operating across 500+ international locations, delivering mission-critical services across complex IT and OT environments.
We are seeking an experienced Network Platform Architect to lead the strategic evolution of the enterprise network platform. This is a high-impact contract role suited to a senior architect who thrives in global, large-scale environments and can bridge strategy with engineering execution.
The Opportunity
As Network Platform Architect, you will define, govern, and evolve the organisation's global network architecture, ensuring scalability, security, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with enterprise strategy.
You will work cross-functionally with Enterprise Architecture, Technology Platforms, Cyber Security, and Network Engineering teams to drive architectural excellence across a highly distributed global estate.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the network architectural strategy – build, deliver, and maintain the long-term roadmap
* Establish and maintain enterprise-wide network architecture standards
* Ensure architectural conformance across IT & OT environments globally
* Align network strategy with Enterprise Architecture, Cyber, Technology Platforms, and Business objectives
* Drive cost-effective solution design and optimisation initiatives
* Develop and present business cases for strategic network initiatives
* Produce and maintain architectural artefacts (HLDs, LLD frameworks, reference models, standards)
* Partner with Network Platform Engineering to operationalise designed solutions
* Champion continual improvement of network products and services
* Drive adoption of Network Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and automation-first approaches
️ Experience & Skills Required
* Proven experience as a Network Architect within large, global enterprises (multi-site / 500+ locations preferred)
* Strong background in enterprise network design (WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, Cloud connectivity, Data Centre, Security integration)
* Experience aligning architecture to Enterprise Architecture frameworks
* Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code / automation in networking
* Strong stakeholder engagement and governance experience
* Experience working across both IT and OT environments is advantageous
* Strong commercial awareness with experience building business cases
* Ability to translate strategy into implementable engineering outcomes
