Scope
EVS is the leader in video production servers and live content management. We deliver live video and emotions to billions of people, every day. As a Front End Engineer specialising in React, you will work on developing the user interface for both Neuron and Cerebrum products, part of the EVS Media Infrastructure group.
Neuron is a powerful audio and video processor on which different identities can be deployed, giving customers flexibility to switch between signal processing, audio shuffling and multiviewer functionality.
Cerebrum plays a key role in the production of major global sporting events, live programs such as news and studio management. Cerebrum allows customers to create customised workflows that operators can access through thick or thin clients. Cerebrum performs Control and Orchestration of Broadcast Systems, routing and tallying signals across SDI, IP and Hybrid technologies as well as the control of third-party devices.
You will actively participate in the various steps of the development process: analysis, architecture, design, implementation, testing, documentation, and maintenance. You will work in a self-organized cross-functional Development Team in an Agile and fast-paced dynamic environment, collaborating closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality solutions with real-world impact in the media and broadcast domain.
Job Description
Analyse user stories and translate them into technical tasks, estimate the size and complexity of the tasks
Build technical design proposals
Develop new software components or enhance existing ones
Participate in peer code reviews
Plan, define and perform unit testing
Create or maintain technical documentation
Integrate software components developed by yourself and other members of the development team
Solve defects reported in the defect tracking system
Identify risks and discuss them with the Quality Control department for building adequate test plans
Follow the EVS software development process (Source Control Management, Defect Tracking, Coding Rules, Continuous Integration)
Participate in the continuous improvement of development processes and tools
Profile
Technical skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science of equivalent
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in software development
Strong Knowledge of React, Typescript
Understanding of the full software life cycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, and maintenance
The following experiences are not mandatory and will be considered an asset:
Experience or knowledge of the Broadcast Industry, Scrum, test-driven development
Experience with Agile development methods and tools (e.g. Jira, TeamCity and BitBucket)
