Maintaining optimal indoor conditions in commercial buildings, especially those with multiple tenants, is a significant challenge. Bandora's cloud-based platform leverages real-time IoT data to provide intelligent dashboards, analytics, anomaly detection, and automation to eliminate energy waste and enhance occupant comfort. The Role:
As a Research Building Analyst, you will be at the forefront of the company's innovation. Your work will be crucial in the development of cutting-edge methods to control and automate building systems. You will collaborate closely with data/AI scientists to analyse complex datasets, develop models, and provide actionable insights. Your contributions will have a direct impact on how our cross-functional team makes decisions and innovates.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyse the energy consumption patterns of buildings and HVAC systems using historical data, simulations, and real-time production environments.
2. Collaborate with data scientists to improve existing algorithms or develop innovative solutions for optimizing building energy performance and comfort.
3. Create digital twins and simulation models, and investigate automated calibration methods.
4. Actively contribute to team discussions and data-driven decision-making.
5. Create clear and engaging data visualizations to effectively communicate findings.
6. Document results, experiments, processes, methodologies, and interpretations in a structured and accessible manner.
Required Skills:
1. Msc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a proactive mindset.
3. Good understanding of building equipment, especially HVAC systems and how they function.
4. Expertise in building simulation tools, like EnergyPlus and OpenStudio.
5. Experience with developing digital twins.
6. Ability to design, execute, and analyse experiments following robust scientific methodologies.
7. Ability to create clear and insightful research documentation and reports.
8. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Nice-to-Have:
1. Knowledge in the behavior of building energy consumption, such as patterns and relationships with climate data.
2. Understanding of BIM systems.
3. Experience with advanced data analysis, statistical modeling or data mining.
4. Skills with Python and Git.
5. Experience with digital twin calibration.
