This organisation is building a next-generation data platform powering live feeds, high-frequency data pipelines and centralised solutions used globally by industry-leading clients.
As part of their continued growth, they are now looking to hire an experienced Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join their core engineering team and work closely with senior leadership on the development of their event-driven data infrastructure.
The Role:
You will play a key part in building and optimising backend systems that support high-volume, real-time data delivery.
This includes working across their current stack — PostgreSQL, FastAPI and Redis — as well as supporting their transition towards a distributed, streaming-focused architecture leveraging Kafka-compatible queuing and ClickHouse for analytics.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years' commercial experience in backend development (Python preferred)
- Strong experience with FastAPI or similar modern frameworks
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and Redis in production environments
- Exposure to real-time or event-driven systems (WebSockets, streaming, queues etc.)
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Familiarity with Docker and containerised deployments
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, observability and performance tooling
- Comfortable collaborating closely with senior engineers and product teams
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Kafka-style systems (e.G. Redpanda)
- Knowledge of ClickHouse or high-performance analytical databases
- Familiarity with distributed systems or large-scale data pipelines
- Interest in sports data or high-frequency feeds
