Pastry Specialist Position
We seek an experienced pastry specialist to lead our culinary team in Funchal, Portugal.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and prepare diverse pastries and desserts aligning with the restaurant's menu and quality standards.
* Design and implement new recipes catering to various dietary preferences or restrictions.
* Collaborate with the pastry team to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of all products.
* Manage inventory of ingredients necessary for pastries and desserts, ensuring efficient ordering and storage.
* Monitor food costs and minimize waste to optimize kitchen efficiency.
* Train new staff members on pastry techniques, hygiene practices, and safety procedures.
* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by adhering to food safety regulations.
* Partner with other chefs to create seasonal menus or special event offerings.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a pastry chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting.
* Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred.
* Extensive knowledge of various pastry techniques, methods, ingredients, and equipment is essential.
* Creativity in developing new recipes while adhering to traditional techniques is required.
* Strong attention to detail for plating designs is crucial.
