About the role
We're hiring our first finance hire to build and own the finance function as the business scales.
This is a senior, hands-on role focused on financial reporting, forecasting, decision support, and building finance systems that reflect how the business actually operates.
You'll work closely with the founder on deal analysis and capital decisions, partner with operations on forecasting and risk, and collaborate with an automation specialist to design scalable finance processes.
This role suits someone who enjoys building from scratch, working across teams, and keeping plans grounded in reality.
What you'll do
Own financial reporting, forecasting and cash visibility
Produce monthly management accounts and rolling forecasts
Support acquisition and deal analysis with the founder
Partner with operations on capacity, forecasting and risk
Help design finance systems and automations (with automation support)
Own bookkeeping, VAT and statutory accounts
Monitor working capital and flag risks early
What we're looking for
Comfortable being the first finance hire
Experience in a startup, scale-up or PE-backed environment
Strong commercial finance, forecasting and modelling skills
Confident in owning bookkeeping, VAT and statutory accounts
Practical, calm and comfortable with ambiguity
SQL experience is a plus, not essential.
Compensation
Typically £75k-£90k FTE, with a wider range of £60k-£95k depending on experience and location, plus equity
Part-time to start (2-3 days/week), with a clear path to full-time
